ROSE BOWL - Sunday 26 FEB

This inter-club bridge competition has been run for more than 20 years. The 7 clubs who participate are Castle, Dun Laoghaire, Edmondstown, Elm Park, Grange, Milltown and Rathfarnham. The competition will be held in Milltown this year. Two teams from each competing club are selected by the Bridge President to compete.

Thus it is not open to other bridge players to participate. Donald McShane will be selecting 2 teams (8 players) to represent us. One of these  teams will be the Boland Trophy winners. We wish our Club Teams good luck on 26 Feb. and hope that they can bring the trophy back to Milltown !

Bridge PresidentWelcome to the Bridge Section of Milltown Golf Club. Whether you are new to bridge or are an expert, you are very welcome to our Club. We are a very active Club with a large array of social bridge functions organised throughout the year. We cater for all standards of bridge player, from beginners to international players. Visitors are welcome to play in open competitions.

  • For beginners, we offer lessons throughout the year and then you can progress to Thursday evening bridge at 7.30pm. But a word of warning, bridge is a highly addictive game, so once you start playing, there is no going back...
  • For seasoned players who enjoy a social game, we have Wednesday afternoon bridge at 2.15pm and Thursday evening bridge at 7.30pm. After the bridge sessions, many players meet in the bar for a drink and to discuss the many hands played (including all those 'unmade' contracts!).
  • For experienced players looking for something more challenging, we have competitive bridge on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm, as well as competitions throughout the year. However, it’s not all hard work - these events are very social and enjoyable.
  • Rubber bridge is also played in the club by informal arrangements amongst members.

Note: Bridge Diaries 2011/12 are now available.
