Milltown Juniors

WINTER LEAGUE

Thanks to those who have completed their matches and group matches are almost complete. On the under 19 league, congratulations to the Woodbrook team who have won section 1 and to the milltown team who have won section 2.  The semi final lineup is as follows :

Rules for Under 14 Winter League

  • -  HOME MATCHES FOR CLUBS LISTED ABOVE
  • -  Players must all be 13 or under on 31/12/11
  • -  Home team captain responsible for making call to organise
  • -  Team comprises four boys and two girls
  • -  Three matches - any combination
  • -  Participants must have a recognised GUI handicap.
  • -  The maximum handicap for boys is is 28, girls is 36.
  • -  Lowest handicap goes back to zero
  • -  Other players deduct the lowest handicap from theirs.
  • -  All players receive 3/4 of the revised figure
  • -  2 points for a win, 1 point each for a halved match.
  • -  Total score counts - 3-0, 2-1 etc...
  • -  These scores will be entered in the table above and the two teams with the highest scores will play the final. If there is a tie - then the winner of the individual match between the tied teams will go through. If it is impossible to split teams on that basis - a coin toss will decide the finalists.
  • -  In order to encourage wider participation, Boys can only play in two of the individual group matches plus the semi final and final. This restriction does not apply to girls.
  • -  Semi final to be organised between the winner of one group and the runner up in the other group in late March/ early April
  • -  Final venue Bray - date to be organised in April 2011
  • * Note - the clubs are responsible for providing soup and sandwiches only for the players at the end of each match - there is no requirements or expectation for the clubs to provide other drinks or refreshments.
